TS-10 tube screamer (with mod) -- volume is way low

I have an old Ibanez TS-10... a couple of years ago I performed the TS-808 mods (documented online)... I hadn't been playing much and when using the pedal now, I realize that it causes a tremendous volume drop (whether engaged or disengaged)... my Strat actually sounds better plugged directly into my old tube Champ than it does going through the TS-10 first.
Does this sound like a bad component... or something else? I wish I had a stock TS-10 to compare the volume to, but I don't...

any ideas?

Thanks!

Fortunately, I found the problem and fixed it... about 2 years after the fact! Turns out that I had made an error with one of the resistor changes, accidentally using one with a much higher impedance than appropriate...
it's almost like having a new tube screamer now!
