TS7 - Worth modding?

I ended up with a TS7 for free. Was looking at several mods available online and reading some threads.

Would I be better off to sell it cheap or mod it for kicks?

No illusion of turning it into a legit 808 or make it match my fulldrive. But I'd like to add another flavor OD to my board and this may give me some ideas.

Or sell it to fund my compressor purchase?

Nice pedal and I've always liked the locking down knobs...Mod it..

Re: TS7 - Worth modding?

Good to hear... What about stacking drive pedals? Any tips on pedal order?

Currently running Crybaby > Fulldrive 2 (non-mosfet) > DD20.
Of course after typing that I realize it is no hassle to try in different places.

Which Mod would you recommend? Currently considering Monte Allums mod...

Re: TS7 - Worth modding?

yeah - you can mod it to sound like whatever you like. they are not really much different to an 808, a 9 a fulldrive or whatever....
but seeing as you have a fulldrive which i like the best out of all those type of pedals try this for a laugh (it sounds killer).....put in a burr brown chip (or not) but try swapping the clipping diodes for a pair of leds.
You get a killer clean(ish) boost that sounds really natural and cool. You also get somne extra level out of it cos leds only start to clip when the gain is quite high and they are very smooth when they do. Its really nice. It kind of compresses your tone the way a tube does. Anyway - you can always reverse it!

Re: TS7 - Worth modding?

Stratdeluxer modded my TS-7 a long time ago and it turned out pretty darn nice. Close to 808 performance in the normal mode. The nice suprise was that the "Hot" switch actually became useful instead of just unleashing a swarm of nasty bees.

Cheers,

Chip

Re: TS7 - Worth modding?

I'll probably mod it, or have a friend do it. Nothing really to lose since I got it for free.

Any mod better than another? Or does that depend on what I'm looking for it to do?

Is it going to be redundant since I already have a 2 stage boost pedal?

Re: TS7 - Worth modding?

What kind of money do people usually end up spending, in total, in a typical pedal mod?
