Tube amp buzzes/tone loss when used in certain locations

Hey everyone,

I've got that age old dilemma of tube amp buzz. It's not my guitar (shoddily built and wired by me ) and it's not the amp itself; it's the outlets used. It sounds incredible when used at my house, dead quiet, no tone loss, nothing. BUT when I use it at other locations, like my parents place or at Sam Ash (which i thought was weird they wouldn't have properly grounded electrical outlets), I get this drastic tone loss and buzz. Would getting a ground hum eliminator like an Ebtech Hum X resolve this issue?

If it is a ground loop, the Ebtech may fix it.

If it is picking up noise from the venue power, then you need an isolation transformer. I suspect this is what you need. They make a 1000Watt one which I have which I run everything in my studio from. The 250Watt one probably big enough for your guitar rig.

There are other sources of noise but those are the big two. I have used the line level Ebtech hum eliminator which works but robs tone, I haven't used that plug version but it should work.
