Try a different input if you haven't.
Guitar>Cord> jack socket.

If you are talking input jack on the amp, it only has one..

Can you make a quick recording of it?

That will help identify the issue.

But i would say it is the power valves or a bias issue

Good idea! unfortunately, I dont have any means for recording other than a cassette player

If you are talking input jack on the amp, it only has one..

Check it for a dry joint or a short on the inside of it.

That would do. Just so long as it can show the sound it will be fine. You don't need it to be ultra high quality.

Good point you would have to record it into the computer using the line in.

I wasn't thinking straight!
