Nostalgic Distortion

So I was playing one of my little 15W tube heads today and it kinda started losing power, almost in stages while I was playing? It just kept gradually getting quieter every 10 or 15 minutes for about 45 minutes?
Does anyone know if this is just the tubes going or is it something more serious? I've had tubes go before but not like this so I was hoping maybe someone else has had a similar situation & might know what the issue could be?
