Tube Depot Vs. Tube Store.......also 6L6 suggestions?

Both these places ok to Order from? Any one know how well matched they're power tubes are? Or if one has "better" matching than the other?

I'm Getting ready to order a couple sets of 6L6's, and some 12ax7's (and au7's an possibly some at7's). An didn't know whether one of these places was better to deal with than the other.

Also if anyones got some suggestions on some 6L6's that'll sound good in an 80's fender concert Lemme know. I'm planning on buying some Sovtek 6L6WTX+, and a second set of something else, but not sure what.

An if ya got any suggestions for the preamp tubes lemme know (these will be goin into a valve junior). I was planning on getting some Sovtek 12AX7-LPS, But I kinda wanna try out some other lower gain stuff too.

For 6L6s, I always liked the JJ 6L6GCs. Very meaty sounding.. full and tight.

For a tubes vendor/shop, I'd suggest www.dougstubes.com

Doug knows what hes doing and he'll help you out the best he could.

He's got a knack for matching the right tube to the amp for what the player desires soundwise. I just bought a pair of TAD 6L6's off of him I couldn't be happier with. Super fast shipping and great prices. In my opinion I'd stay away from The Tube Store....I had good luck with them once, and bad luck the second time around............

Anyone have thoughts on useing KT66 in an amp that calls for 6L6GC? Would any sorta mod be required (i've been told no mod is required, But its always good to get a second opinion) Other than re-biasing?
