tube experimentation for peavey delta blues

i am just wondering if i should experiment with different tubes in my peavey delta blues 115. it is the same amp as the classic 30 but with a 15" blue marvel speaker and tremolo.

the cleans are pretty good now, but i am wondering if i can improve on it. classic fender cleans are what i want.

the overdrive is ok, but i am going to get some sort of pedal for that. so my focus is on my clean sound. i play an epiphone les paul with jb/jazz pickups.

the amp currently has JJ tubes in it.

Try EH 12AX7 pre's easy to find, cheap and they sounds really good. I think JJ's are dark and flat for the most part.

Honestly I would try the EH EL84's as well, I used them a while back and was very happy with them as well.

I really like the Delta Blues if I had room/$$$ for a tube combo I wouldn't hesitate for a second to grab one. Checked out a local band last night that is sort of Crowes/Stones and the main guitarist was running an LP Standard into the 1x15 DB and it rocked big time.

its a great amp, and with the jb/jazz combo, it really comes to life. i am finding the sound to be a little dark with a big emphasis on the mids. maybe a tube change and a speaker upgrade to a weber.
