For some reason the pick ups in my Ibanez dont work well in R2 channel. Those puppies are the most aggressive passive pickups I have ever heard so at 10:00 gain it really sounds like 4:00. Alnico 5 mags I believe. But somehow theyre more clear than my Alnico 8 mag guitars plugged in. Its a variable mess I have lmaowhen I had the ET 65 running lead 2 gain around 10 o clock it worked fine! not a mess at all!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cables are a mess too I have like 15 pedals with all kinds of different cable links. Mostly basic 4" fender cables and some odd brands thrown in the mix. Could be another variable adding to the problem. Pickups are set perfectly. Ive spent a lot of time adjusting them just right. They sound great on a clean channel or with minor crunchPickups set proper? rolling up the pole pieces smooths the gain and use good cables! Mogami's
Its actually the Hotone FAT pedal which is a tube screamer wanna be. If Im not mistaken all of hotones nano pedals are true bypass. At least thats why I was sold on it vs. The tube screamer. Maybe a few of their pedals aren't true bypass including that one. Thats certainly something to look into. Good point thereA guy on the marshall boards been changing speakers/tubes back and forth, even tried my bias recommendation he thought it sounded warmer some but didnt say aww man muddy or too bright and kept it at 30ma who knows.Get your cables in check at least get a good one and plug straight in and see what it sounds like, tube screamers arnt true bypass unless you get one that is so turning it off will effect tone some. I tried one and it colored my tone too much I dont get the hype! clean boost are better for boosting if you get the right one IMO![]()

Truuuee that's such an obvious first step I should've takenI can't believe I didn't think to ask about that... Before trying anything else, try running with just a cable straight into the amp, or only the pedals you actually "need" for your base tone. If the problem goes away, you need to either simplify your signal chain or find a buffer you like.
