Tuners in the effects chain

Do tuners on the floor (Boss TU-2 or Fender PT100) effect your overall sound? Do you guys keep them inline with your other effects on the floor or do you put them somewhere else?

I've always pretty much shyed away from pedals. It was just this stubborn thing that I have where I've always felt that I wanted the audience to hear ME and not my pedals playing. I've played shows with a ton of bands who's guitarists just hide behind their pedal board. Over time I've decided that I want to get a basic pedal board. I figured it couldn't hurt, they're good to have and I realize I can use one to ENHANCE my sound as opposed to just cover it in noise.

Anyway, my drummer got me a Fender PT100 as a birthday gift because he knew I was annoyed that I had to unplug, tune up, and plug back in during a show. Do these types of tuners have true bypass? Where in the chain do you generally put them?

And also, has anyone ever tried this Fender PT-100? Is it good?

Yes it will. It will affect the sound more in front of the amp versus putting it in the effects loop.

The best bet is to run it completely out of the signal chain. I Suggest getting a Volume pedal (Like the Ernie Ball Jr) and using the tuner outputs to remove the tuner from the signal chain, but still be able to tune at anytime.
