First...Make sure you have a good wax seal between the copper base plate and the base of the pickup before you install this pickup or you will have bigtime microphonics!...Before installing my Twangbanger I noticed the plate was loose and there was a huge gap between the center of the plate where it met the pickup...My fix was to take large flakes of wax and set it so it was sandwiched between the plate and the pickup..
I then "lightly" clamped the brass plate and used a hair dryer to melt the wax....I Let the wax dry for the amount of time it took me to remove my bridge position Surfer pickup...
Now my question....
My 1st string pole piece on my Twangbanger actually sits a bit below the plastic cover pole hole...The Surfer's 1st string pole was flush with it? No big deal, but is this the norm and is it like that on yours also? I don't like the cover over the pole myself...I'll live with it by bringing the pickup up a bit....I have to go listen to this thing and see what it does? Cross your fingers for me please! :22: :13:
