Tweaking the Brenna

Just finished up today tweaking the blackface reverb 6L6 style amp called the Brenna. It'll handle 6L6GC, 5881, 6V6, etc, also a wide variety of rectifier tubes (5Y3 through 5AR4)

I should have photos hopefully on Monday when I pick up the faceplates. It finally came together.

And Jeff_H, it's close to what you are looking for. But, not 100% there. :smack: I did try though.

Re: Tweaking the Brenna

I tried it with a normal long 2 spring reverb pan and a short 3 spring one. Same specs otherwise. THe 3 spring is surfy as heck. 2 spring is a bit more controlled. I think I like the 3 spring, but will give folks a choice.

Re: Tweaking the Brenna

Further update after more playing time. The cleans are Two Rock/*umble in nature, warm and pristine I tried putting a Master volume in it, but didn't care for the results. I put a Full Drive 2 in front of it and I'm getting that Two Rock lead tone some of you fell in love with in Santa Barbara. The reverb is foot switchable and the NFB boost footswitchable as well.

This amp is a very clean platform to run a butt-load of pedals in front of. The other day I had the SD twin tube in front of it for a while as well as the Tweak Fuzz. Even the crazy Zvek SeekTrem sounds good in front of it.

Re: Tweaking the Brenna

I think I have my bases covered. Marshall, Fender, Matchless/Vox, high gain... oops... no high gain! Haha! ;)

Re: Tweaking the Brenna

i'm still waiting for something with tremelo AND reverb AND an MV.

Well, I'll never say never, but the Evan-Rude has a Master Volume on the Twister side (Tweed tone stack). The Mudslide Channel is pure reverb/tremolo Fender. The Mudslide does not have a master. (and won't)

Re: Tweaking the Brenna

Scott, did it end up being 2 channels? It sounds like a killer amp.

Re: Tweaking the Brenna

Oh, the Brenna is not on your website...didn't it used to be there?

Re: Tweaking the Brenna

You ned to leave that amp alone and get my Pro done!!

:chairfall: Just kiddin'. I know you are busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest!

Re: Tweaking the Brenna

The Brenna was the project that I had to finish up this weekend before I can finish yours. Plus I'm traveling tue-friday this week and a football game on Saturday to attend.

The good news is that I'll be done before the Weber speaker gets here. :)
