Twin reverb RI-pros and cons

I'm thinking of closing up shop on my vintage gear escapade and selling my 2 jbls on ebay for around 300 bucks each(D130F's from the 60's....the d120F's sell in the 300's easily and the 130's typically sell for the 400 range), then with cash that i have saved right now, buy a twin reverb RI and settle the whole deal once and for all. I play a strat, i play blues and jazz, i like my tones sweet and clean and loud. Any problems or issues with the RI?

Yeah, it sounds like stale sh!t! Really, for a little more, you can scour the market for an amp that sounds better. It's really clean, has one decent clean tone, and doesn't impress you that much. The Fender Hotrod Deville's and regular Devilles sound better. Check out the Vibroking, Bassman LTD, Blues Breaker, Fender Pro Tube Reverb Concert/Twin, or others. I had a Twin 65 Reissue. It's OK, but not a keeper.

IMO the reissues are good amps, and if you want it loud and clean you want a Fender Twin...that said I would look for an older one and have a few small mods done or do them yourself, and you will have a much better amp IMO that a reissue...shoot for say a 1968 up until a 1974 SF model, then just take it to a good shop tell them to blackface it and them splurge for NOS tubes...it won't be cheep, but it will sound great. If you go the reissue road, NOS tubes will also help...IMO even more that they would in an old one.

is it that bad GJ? I mean, would it sound better than a blonde bandmaster through 15 inch JBL's?

Remember, i do not play any form of rock whatsoever. All jazz and blues! my price range is 800-1000 and i shall not go the vintage route!

it's just too much of a hassle in my book. I mean, my bandmaster sounds great, but i've had to fix quite a few problems here and there with noise issues, old components, old electrolytic caps, etc. I'll just buy new from now on because i can't afford to shell out any more cash until i get a job. If a new amp screws up i can always take it back to GC and get another one or a different model to see what i like.

And i could do the Guitar Center "rental" plan to see which new amp floats my boat. I can't do that with vintage amps. Vintage amps don't have warranties, and i can't 'trade' them in for other amps before my '30 day period' is over.
