two 16 ohm speakers = 8 ohm mono?

been really wanting to swap a V30 out of my recto 2x12 for a gt1275. might do it in the mext month. :scratchch Question is, do i get a 16 or 8 ohm if the load is 8 ohm mono? im guessing 16? blah ohms confuse me. thanks dudes.

that would be 16 ohm. 2 16's in parallel become 8 ohm.

Also the speaker should say how many ohms it is...

Correct and make certain that you wire them in parallel not series or you will wind up with a 32 OHM load and REALLY cut you amps power!
I many times will run a cab under my 1/12 combos for outdoor gigs. I have 16 OHM speakers in both my combos and both cabs are wired 16 ohm so I get an 8 OHM overall load when running them all together.

thanks guys, ive yet to open my cab, but im guessing theyre 16 ohm each considering that it has an 8 ohm mono hole for the head.
