Two 2x12s.. impedance

I just got a Marshall 2x12" and it has occurred to me that it would be a lot cooler if it was a mini-stack eventually with the straight 2x12 under it. And I wouldn't have to put it on something to raise it up.

Problem is this cab is 8 ohm, with two 16 ohm speakers. Would there be any way to wire it so the total load is 8 ohm by swapping these speakers in the other one, and buying two more speakers for the bottom cab, 4 or 8 ohms each?

Like maybe one 16 ohm in each cab and one four? Right now I'm doing the math but there doesn't seem any way. I got something that would put it to 6.5 ohms or so, I think with one cab staying at 8 ohms and the other being 32 ohms, but that would send most power to the 8 ohm cab, which would be okay, since I could still use just one and get almost full power. Someone told me the Traynor YBA head I would be getting sounds better at 8 ohms though.

WHY didn't they include an impedance switch??

Edit: I know that if the cabs were 16 ohm each it would be perfect but I have the 16 ohm speakers on order already, and I'd like to be able to just use one cab anyway.

I can't find a way to make it work... if you put another 8 ohm cab it would be 4 ohms total. Why don't you try and send the speakers back and get 8 ohm speakers, wire both cabs to 16 ohms each, and then when used together you will have 8 ohms. That is how I do it with my stack at least... sucks when you have mismatched impedences though!

I was talking to some people on the subject and apparently it's not good for my amp to just run one 16 ohm cab (which is what would happen for practice) so I'll stick with the 8 ohm cabs and if I get another cab, I'll run my amp at 4 ohms and see how it sounds.
