Two humbuckers and a five-way

Is it possible to get the switching configuration below using a standard five-way switch? The pickups are a '59 and a JB, both 4-conductor. I'm thinking it's gonna have to be a megaswitch-type thing. Switch suggestions are welcome!

Pos 1: Neck humbucker
Pos 2: One coil of each pickup in parallel
Pos 3: Humbuckers in parallel
Pos 4: Same as #2, but maybe different coils
Pos 5: Bridge humbucker

Maybe this will work for you? You'll need a five way "super switch"

+1 on that metlking, I have that exact setup on my strat with a super 2 and 59'. It's great for having 5 different sounds and the 2/4 positions are great instant gain reductions.

Re: Two humbuckers and a five-way

are the humbuckers in the third position of that diagram in series or parallel?.. another Q: are the humbuckers in the middle position of a les paul in series or parallel.. and one last Q: are the coils of a humbucker usually in series or parallel?

Re: Two humbuckers and a five-way

If I'm not mistaken, position 3 would be parallel, as would the middle postion on a Les Paul. A single humbuckers coils are usually in series, again if I'm not mistaken!

yea I think you're right.. because if dual humbuckers were wired in series the middle position would be much louder than the treble and rhythm positions.. also, I noticed that when I coil tap a humbucker the output is much lower; which lends to your supposition that the coils of humbuckers are in series.. good ol physics

Yeah, that's exactly it, thanks. I was hoping to get there w/o having to order a switch. I wish the guy had let me work on the guitar from the get-go instead of replacing the switch w/ a standard 5-way and throwing the old one away. I think the only problem was his ground wasn't making connection.
