Two humbuckers and a standard 5 way?

They "used" to indicate what each position was on the diagrams and then changed them and that info is gone. It would be nice to add that back. I know I've brought that up before. And the script font can be a PITA to read sometimes. It's wiring diagram, not a NY Times Best-Selling Novel! Sheesh....LOL

If you call "all the way back" as position #1, then:
1. B
2. N/B
3. N
4. N stud coil in parallel with B screw coil
5. B screw coil
Yeah. I had to hold a 5-way in my hand, and go through all the positions several times to make sure I got it right. I'm 99% sure.
And to reinforce what Jeremy said, with a Superswitch, you can have anything, in any position.

Ah, I see. Those are what I would want but they aren't in the most intuitive order.
Is there a way to make it with B and N at 1 and 5?

Unfortunately, no. A 5-way, is just a 3-way, with two extra "click" positions. No extra actual terminals.
Still, its nice to know that it can be done. I may wire it that way because its what I have. I have a standard 5way and a standard 3way.
I do also have a VLX91 that may be defective. I put a big X on the side of it from a wiring project 10 years ago. I will have to trace the contact to see if it works, but I'm guessing its broken.
That said, is it possible to wire a 3 way with something other than B/N in the middle? The 3way has the same terminals as the 5, but only 3 positions.

The audience won't be able to see it.
(Although seriously, what I dislike about a pp is that it make an audible click that cna resonate through the guitar. Audience could hear that.)

Bridge
Bridge Split/Neck Split
Bridge/Neck
Neck Split

It feels very similar to a standard 3 way with notch positions being like a Strat, brighter and quackier.

That is what I want to try. Do you have the superswith schematic for it?
If my VLX91 works (ibanez superswitch) I will translate it to your diagram.

Yes. Around here somewhere, in my archives. If I can't find it, I'll draw up a new one. The actual wiring is surprisingly simple if you use my unique technique for wiring a Superswitch.

I should have asked, instead of assume: will this be a 1 vol / 1 tone guitar?

Most people would prefer Neck Coilsplit Alone vs Bridge Split Alone, so I created a modification of that diagram a few months ago that does that.
Also, the original SD diagram has an error in how the cap is wired to the tone pot. My version corrects for that problem.

Yup. Nice catch. That tone control won't do much. I hope someone posted this in the "bad diagrams" thread.
