Thats true, to a degree. All the pups are manufactured with the wire coming out of the same side, relative to the stud coil. But since a neck pickup gets mounted with its screw terminal facing the neck, it gets turned around such that wire seems to come out of the other side.

Yes. My point was that StratLover seemed to think that the wire should come out of different sides relative to the stud coil depending on whether it was a neck or bridge model. That isn't the case, since originally all humbuckers were the same, i.e. no neck/bridge models.

You should be able to get some insulated wire from an electronics supply store, maybe Radio Shack or whatever. The braid could be grounded to pretty much any pot that will work & is properly grounded.
