Two more tele questions

1. Has anyone tried using a Tele @ the bridge, a Tele or Strat at the neck, then a humbucker just above the bridge or in between the neck and bridge for Gibsonish tones (I'm assuming you'd use a bridge humbucker, if any). 2. I've never understood the function of tone caps...do they only come into play when you turn the tone pot down (and are transparent with the tone pot full up)? And does the value determine the final tone when the tone pot is turned down all the way? Thanks, Frogster.

Re: Two more tele questions

I have a 59n in my tele bridge and a strat neck single. It balances well and gives me both the PAF sound and the alnico single sound. It is nice in the middle position also. I kept the 500 pot and the .047 cap.

Re: Two more tele questions

What I was actually curious about was if anyone was getting an acceptable sound with a bridge humbucker (or neck) out of its regular position on the body and the difference in sound from a tele-style guitar (bolt-on maple neck) as opposed to a glued-in mahogony neck...........

Re: Two more tele questions

2- the tone cap has basically no effect when the tone control is on 10. the value determines the tone when the control is at 0. the value of the pot does have an effect even when the control is at 10.

1- you could put a bucker in the middle and get some good tones
