Two Rock amplifiers?

Re: Two Rock amplifiers?

An Emerald 50 was my #1 until I sold it to fund an AxeFx. They were hand wired (point to point) and great designs. The major complaints were that they churned the model lineup and they were pricey. They were definitely a better value purchased used. I had no complaints about mine but the AxeFx was a better tool for what I needed.

The founders sold the company to PBG a few years back and I haven't followed things since.

Re: Two Rock amplifiers?

Anyone own or play regularly a Two Rock amp?
On the relatively expensive side.
Are they the Zephs of the amp world?

Thanks for any feedback and/or info!
What can you say...they are yet another "boutique" guitar amp.
They have several models, and they are well built.
You will love some models, and others will leave you flat.
Joe and Bill started out like a lot of guys in the field...modding and repairing Fender and Marshall amps of the day.
They eventually went into biz for themselves...payed their dues...built nice amps...got some very high profile players in their stable...and became A Players in the field of what they do.
Success turned into stress...they sold to PBG so they could concentrate on design...I believe Joe has been gone for quite a a while now.
It is all a matter of opinion...they still make good amps...if I were looking for something in "that arena" I would definitely take a hard look at Andy Fuchs.
