type pots for CS Pearlygate in a tele?

Re: type pots for CS Pearlygate in a tele?

Having wired them in both split and parallel, I don't think there is enough of a difference to justify the more tedious parallel wiring, but that's mostly my laziness talking. Also, you can split two pickups with a single push pull, which I find convenient.

With the push/pull, you might also try a parallel wiring instead of split. Many seem to like that better with the single coil-sized humbuckers.

by parallel you mean [neck + bridge (parallel)] ?

No, the pickup coils are parallel to themselves rather than series.

sorry for the delay. i got confused on wiring the switch. the orientation of it vs what i was seeing on the schematic. too bad phostenixwiringdiagrams doesn't work anymore, his were easy to follow. two switches and two tries and still got the output sequence wrong. easy fix i guess just to swap the "common" lugs.

i like the sound of the PG-mini. it is different sounding but it growing on me. currently i'm using a 500k p/p with .033 cap. it can get a bit bright sounding but not like an ice-picky-sound. the tone control works good so i can taper that easily. i do like the sound of splitting the PG-mini though. the neck+bridge(series) is really fat, always like that sound alot. neck&bridge parallel sounds good too. the neck is a "Reilander RT3 Texas Style Tele pickup".

i'll try a 250k p/p pot a little later and compare. though i may get a toneshaper kit, way too slow on the soldering/orientation.

appreciate all the comments helping me out on this.

Thanks for the review! It will help others who might be looking at the same pickup.
