I have got a couple of sets of humbuckers......his names have changed since I got mine. But one set I think became the Precious and Grace set, and the other is low wind.....so 7.6k and 7.3k approx. The p90 was a custom wind where I posted him some late 50's long magnets and had him wind something to suit a LP Jr.
I haven't had Duncans for a while now in my LP's. Once I got a set of Zhangbuckers the Duncans I had at the time just seemed 1-dimensional and flat. The Zhangbuckers now reside in my SG, and really do that 60's original SG tone fantastically.
The Tyson humbuckers I have a VERY different in nature. The P&G set has a natural degree of fatness in the tone. I find these to be like the more beefy end of PAF's......they will drive an amp but they are still clear and have enough highs.
The lower wind have a lot of zing. Many people describe the original LP's as like being that 'Tele on steroids'. This set is more like this in the bridge. The neck is less congested and airy than the P&G set

The Precious & Grace set is different than the one you have; the TTL3 set was discontinued as this set occupies similar "sonic territory" but much better IMO. The lower output set you have is the TTL2 set - that name hasn't changed. All the best, Bobby

I have a P&G set that is going to into my 356. Haven't played them yet, but like you, the Charlie Star video played a big role with my choice. They look incredibly well made and the pricing is extremely fair compared with other boutique options. Hope to install them sometime this month. I've been swamped since I transferred to a 4 yr university.

The Precious & Grace set has the warmth (mids) with a lot of clarity and dynamic at the same time. The TTL-3 set fell flat a bit with the last two in certain guitars/was a little too picky about what guitar they went in, so I stopped offering them. Precious & Grace were designed on a good friend of mines particularly nice sounding set of original 1959 PAFs that really do the warm/fat but clear thing so well. The overwhelming response from everyone that has a set of P & G - from weekend warriors to touring pros has been a resounding "yes!" so to speak. : )

I got the P&G installed in my goldtop KS 336 (really a 356). Glad I put them in the guitar. It's generally a bright guitar with the Pigtail hardware and ebony board. The P&G has a great of warmth and fatness that counter balances the guitar very well. It still retains a good amount of clarity and top end (thanks to the A4). Speaking of which, the A4 lends well to the woody/airy nature of both pickups. Very dynamic and respond well to either pick attack or vol. knob. I think the neck pickup is my favorite out of the two. The bridge pickup has a good amount of push/output. Like I said, they are meticulously well built and priced well. Looking forward to another set in the future.
