I've made them. Nothing unholy about it. Just make sure the spacing is right between the two coils and the holes in the baseplate.

I thouht you couldn't because dimarzios air bucker thing? That's be pretty sweet if you did like a paf 59 combo. Didn't someone do that with lke an X2N and an invader or something a while back?

I did a JB/PAF hybrid. I call it a DeMuncan. It sounds pretty good.

i'm considering a custom/'zone hybrid, airbucking both coils and putting an A8 in there; a friend of mine suggested calling it "the DiMuncio"...

can anyone give me an idea of the resonant peaks in the 2 different airzone/tone zone coils?

yeah... it's a bit out there :smash:

i know a jb coil mixes well with a custom, and i believe the AZ and JB have winds (at least 1 in the case of the AZ) that aren't entirely dissimilar, but i'm a bit scared of what i perceive as a massive lower-mid spike in the AZ... it may not work out as i'd hoped, but i really want to airbuck a hot hybrid and see if it works like i'm imagining it might

if i do it, and it isn't a shame i will never wash off, i'll tell you all about it

natman put a bar into an invader coil and put an a8 IIRC. it only looked like an X2N
