ULTIMATE small/mini pedal board

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
I don't care what you think (but would love to hear...). I have meditated upon this deeply, and feel THIS is "my" ultimate small-mini pedal board!

Dunlop 535Q Mini - small, light, and able to adjust to meet any Wah tone you might reasonably want

MXR Phase 95 - Because every flavor of Phase you really need and one knob

Boss JB2 Andy Driver - A Boss Blues driver + JHS Angry Charlie MIAB, all in one space. All manner of light to heavy dirt, series, parallel, boost or on-off, back & forth, whatever

Boss BF3 - A 4 knob Flanger with extra modes for every kind of sound from Chorus to Univibe. Basically most modulations that the aren't Phaser.

EHX Canyon - Digital, Analog, Tape, Modulated, Shimmer, dotted 8ths, and a bunch of others. Super Bonus - it has a Delay + Plate Reverb that can do just Reverb if you want.

All nicely spaced ona Pedaltrain Nano+ board. I'll use a One spot and 5 barrel adapter to power it. and a bonus case to carry it all!

not for me, but workable. id find a way to get the remote for the angry driver on there

Don't like the order of pedals, but that is personal preference. And I would want more of a no-nonsense delay at the end like a Carbon Copy. I could easily rock that board.

I could probably make something like that work. I think I'd really have to think about if I had a small board like that...what it would be. Better to use mini pedals and AC power it, or go all battery?

I'm using a Carbon Copy on my upstairs practice setup now, but I've never loved it. Repeats are a little too dark and the modulation is not quite right. If I had to have just one delay on a small board, something with the versatility of the Canyon would be the way to go. Tap tempo! Plus it does reverb. I mean c'mon.

For me, I would drop the modulation (could probably get enough mod effects for my taste with the Canyon), add a Turbo Tuner and a noise gate, and maybe swap the drive out for something 5150-flavored. Angry Driver has me interested though.

What's this going into? Just any clean amp?

The non-sense delay is there purely for the "I don't know what delay I need"

I debated hard between Flashback 2, DD-7, and the Canyon. Reverb was what closed the deal. An RV-3 would work too...

I could add one or two mini anythings if I really wanted. For tuner - Snark. No need to waste floor space on that.

Yep - any clean amp. Anywhere, anytime to Zeppelin, KISS, Aerosmith, Priest, Maiden, Poison, Ratt, Foo Fighters, Gin Blossoms, whatever...

The DD-8 and MXR Joshua both look great as well. Having an HX Effects is keeping me out of the pedal market but can't deny I want more toys.

How is the Angry Driver in real life? Any special sauce or does it just get the job done?

Yes!

I really like this pedal lineup. My preference for phaser tends more towards EHX, and I might be inclined to try to ram a fuzz into there too . . . but I could be very happy with what you've got cooking there. Flexible, easy to dial in, great array of sounds, lots of gain stages, no fat to cut.

I get that. And for that reason, I would want something simpler to quickly dial in like a Carbon Copy or Memory Man.

If that's your issue, just set it on analog and leave it there.

But...if someone decides they want to fart around with "Are You Experienced" well, a Carbon Copy isn't going to do that, but this can.

If you stick it on your favorite setting, its as easy as any 3 knob delay; Digital, Tape, Analog or other...

Carbon Copys never sounded right to me, either. I'd have fun with the Canyon, though.

I like the Carbon Copy for analog goodness, and the Mod button. If I was getting "Basic Analog Delay" today, that would be my go to.

Just got a Kosmos Reverb on a deal too. Bob goes "Ambient"
