Ultrasonic Reference 5 pickup Wiring question

I have an old ultrasonic reference 5 pickup from the 80's I am trying to install in the Bridge position of one of my guitars. I am not trying any coil tapping or splitting just basic hookup. On the back of the pickups there are 5 soldering contacts labled with numbers, the below colored wires are soldered to the wired contacts.

1 Black ~~~~~~~~~ 2 White

5 GND (Braid Around the wire)

3 Red ~~~~~~~~~ 4 Green

I am not sure which ones to tie together to make sure I am cancelling the noise. The ~~~~ represents the coil. Anyone know the wiring scheme for these. Any Help would be appreciated there is very little information about these on the net.

Re: Ultrasonic Reference 5 pickup Wiring question

I would test each set with a multi-meter. Each coil should be half the total resistance. Then I would twist white/green or white/red together and test. If the resistance is double you have series and the +/- wires are largely interchangeable. If the reading is less than half then it is parallel.

Follow the technique that I describe here, and you should be good to go.

Great Article Thanks so much.
I found that

1 Black(-) ~~~~~~~~~ 2 White(+) 4.53k

5 GND (Braid Around the wire)

3 Red (+) ~~~~~~~~~ 4 Green(-) 4.76k

I wired red and black together and it measured 9.53k

I used White to the hot on the pot
I used the Green and braid ground to the pot.

Thanks, Everything works, sounds very paf like.
