I was thinking that too but im not so sure... Notice the polarity switch by the standby? the 4 speaker outputs? Those more say plexi than metal panel or jmp.
Not say it is a plexi but it just has me scratching my head. Ive seen jmps with the 4 speaker outs but they seem to be pretty uncommon.
If its a plexi he might get the 4k... 6k is crack head thinking. Metal panels closer to 2.5k

4 speaker outputs were standard on 100W JMPs; my bro's 2203 from '78 had four outputs, as did the model 1959 from June '73 my bass player used to own. The polarity switch indicates that it's a hand-wired amp for the US market; the early international (multi-voltage) amps and the later PCB amps didn't have the switch. Hard to say from the picture if it's plexi or metal panel, but it should be hand wired which would be June '73 or older.

My 78 jmp does not have the 4 speaker outputs it's not a rule at all it's even stamped US on the chassis tag

The canadian amps are seen sometimes with the polarity switch also... even into the later era when the rocker switches were standard elsewhere.
Its hard to make definitive rules about 70's era marshalls, they were assembled from whatever they had on hand on the time. Its not hard at all to find a mutt amp that came through with a mix bag of features.

That's absolutely true. My earlier post refers to typical amps of the period which I should have stated at the time. If your '78 JMP is 100W, it's the first I've seen that didn't have 4 speaker outputs. I don't know if it had to do with distributors, but Canadian amps from the early days through the late 80s were always a bit different. For example it isn't unusual for a Canadian JCM800 to have toggle switches even though most Marshalls switched to rocker switches in '77. I've also seen a few Canadian Marshalls with no 16 ohm tap on the output transformer.
