At this present point in time, im playing with some crappy 30watt solid state amp i found on someones lawn. its about as old as its wattage and faily useless... id rather gig with a clock radio.

anyway, i was wondering which amp i should buy for small gig use and general house playing. i dont think i really need a 4x12 cab or anything and i cant afford a mesa boogie

my influences include:
michael james romeo (symphony x)
marcel coenen (sun caged)
tobias "snake" wernesson (supreme majesty)
john petrucci (dt)

Maybe get yourself a model-ing amp. You may find the versatility a plus for the influences you mentioned. Good luck.

Modelling amps, think line 6 stuff. Check out the web for info.

I'd recommend the Peavey bandit. Check out ebay, you should be able to pick one up for $350ish

Depends what you want out of it....do you have a bit of money to spend? Are you gonna look at some other solid state amp? Or are you looking to get something with valves?

hmm probably $400 US second hand
and im pretty sure id want a valve amp
