Hi people. I`m a new player, my first guitar was a cheap Yamaha EG112, now I have a proposition on a deal to buy a BC Rich Warlock guitar for 150$ including postage to europe and all.
The guitar is a BC Rich Warlock Platinum. I have some pictures, I tried to ask the owner but he doesn`t know anything about guitars so I need a little bit of help from you people since I cant find this guitar on the BC Rich website.
What do you think of it, how mutch is it worth, what year is it? Is that a floyd rose? What does those markings "Licensed by BC RICH" mean? Any info will help.
Thnx in advance!

Re: Unknown BC Rich Warlock - need help/info

in my opinion, that's a good deal, the platinum series from a few years back were generally some really good players.

I noticed its missing the locking lugs on the nut end for the Floyd, and the truss rod cover... perhaps its missing the bar as well?
but yes its a licenced Floyd then its good to go. Same design as "Floyd Rose", but licensed to be made by other companies.
Can't tell from the pictures which pups are in it, but they're not emgs, probably the bdsm pickups which sound surprisingly good for metal.

I have generally found that BCRich turns out some really solid instruments in the lower price ranges, and at $150 that's a pretty solid guitar.

Platinum series was above the bronze series (cheaper electronics and body wood) and below the new jersey series (neckthru or set neck) if I'm not mistaken, generally well accepted at the price range and generally good players.

All generally speaking of course, your mileage may vary.

That's not a recent Platinum series, it's one from the late 80s or early 90s. Made in Korea; quite possibly in the same plant as more recent platinum BCRs. That price including shipping is a good deal, though it may be advisable to have a tech check it out since a lic Floyd that old may have worn out knife edges and not stay in tune.

Also 'NJ' doesn't stand for New Jersey; it stands for Nagoya, Japan which is where the first NJs from the mid 80s were made.
