Unknown Body

Imperator of Indignation
Does anyone know what kind of guitar this body from Guitarfetish is from? It looks like it has a Jazzmaster style tremolo?

Re: Unknown Body

I'd guess it was a never-completed production run. it looks like it borrows heavily from the Melody / Eko design.

I don't know why but I always feel a little nausious whenever I see pictures of those kind of wacky 60s/ 70s guitars with their deformed headstocks/ body shape...

Re: Unknown Body

I think it's a bloated hermaphrodite PRS that got attacked by the Cookie Monster!.....or some thing like that....

Re: Unknown Body

On the other hand I think Jolly has been Jonesen for one, and Raph could use one too...... Hee, Hee!

Re: Unknown Body

k, you should be ashamed.

Visit the home page of the Maton Guitars website. In the gallery photograph, just below the heading, is a guitar body of exactly that outline.

Re: Unknown Body

I sent Maton an email asking to identify the guitar first form the right in their gallery photo. I'm not seeing it as a recent production model.

This one is kind of similar without the cutout.

Re: Unknown Body

it's buttugly and not the same as a maton wildkat, though there is the similarity of the forearm cutaway.

most of those GFS luthier specials and clearance items look like 3rd rate rejects of far east guitar manufacturers that nobody on this side of the world knows anything about.

There's an OLP MM1 body and neck floating in there (or it was the other night when I last looked)... I've been tempted.
