I may get some blow-back for this one, but I think one of the most under-rated guitar players of all time was Terry Kath. RIP Terry.

Mick Ronson and Brian May underrated? Great? Of course. But underrated? Not even close. They are huge guitar gods, well known and respected by almost all those who bother to "rate" musicians at all.

Neil Zaza. Neil has spent most of his playing life working for manufacturers( I first met him in the late 1980's when he was working for Hamer and did a clinic at the shop I worked in) so many don't know Neil as a pure artist. Genuine nice dude that is one of the scariest players on the planet!!

Miika Tenkula! This guy was phenomenal. The right mixture of melody and feel. I like being able to portray emotion and have my audience connect to it, and Miika is excellent at that, and that is why I chose him. Sadly he passed at 35. There is no telling how much further he would have evolved as a songwriter and lead guitarist. R.I.P.

only till last year did i know my FAVORITE Testament album Low was James Murphy.
if i didnt know better that was the best most creative Alex Skolnik i ever heard and it changed my out look on metal! and to find out it wasnt him! wow James you are a metal god for the solos and feel of that album and the FN tone he brought with the newly made Mesa Rectifiers with guitars using EMGs, that was modern metal in 1994!
