When I first got my modded Vox WAH WAH back from John I felt my Fulltone was slightly smoother and better. I still think the Fulltone is slightly smoother...but we did a little Wah Wah shootout yesterday and the modded Vox was the clear favorite!
It took me a few days to get into the more pronounced wah of the modded Vox: for the first day or two I didn't like it. It comes on alot faster and stronger than the Fulltone and I had to adjust both my picking and my foot to get the most out of it.
With the modded Vox I have to pick a little lighter so I don't overload it and I have to sweep the wah a little slower.
But after comparing my John Spina modded Vox 847 and my Fulltone Clyde Deluxe: I now prefer the modded Vox. It's just more fun and I can sing through that puppy almost like a Talk Box...it's that vocal.
I love it...it's all I've been using for the last week or two.
When I plug my Fulltone '69 into the Wahs, I still kind of prefer the Fulltone. The response is smoother, more gradual and easier to control because the modded Vox just comes on so strong so quickly.
