I took a bunch of ideas from the other thread and made 9 mock-ups from them, I also made the models a little darker like the real thing.

Here's the real guitar

and here's some mock-ups (they seem endless)

oh...we have chrome now...so i pick 8...or combine 4 and 8 and do chrome hardware, no guard, black speed knobs, black switchwasher, black switchtip, black hum rings and zebras....or chrome rings could look good too!

I love the covered pups/cream pg/swich plate or same without pg.......or just leave that beauty alone, it looks incredible!

Re: UPDATED: More LP cosmetic make-ups

i always liked the jimmy page kind of look, one chrome cover and one zebra but i would like no guard on it

I agree, but I just don't like the Gibson 57 Classics and of the pickups I've decided on, one of them is not availible in gold (Seth neck and WCR Fillmore bridge).

Hehe i dunno now, so much choice!!! :smack:

After thinking more, i say #3

Re: UPDATED: More LP cosmetic make-ups

I say number 3 but with the white coils facing inside.

or you could go
Neck: covered
Bridge: all black
pickguard: white
that would be cool.

In your previous thread I opted for the left without the guard, but seeing your little samples, I'd say go for number 2.

I like the feel of the pickguard that ties the pickups together.
Two colors are quite enough, the black contrasting with shiny texture of the top looks really good.

Defenitely no. 2 :burnout:

Re: UPDATED: More LP cosmetic make-ups

I think the Double cream with cream mounting rings looks best. The Cream just looks right with the guitar colour. IMHO black doesn't look good with this guitar.

7 is your lucky number ;)

Re: UPDATED: More LP cosmetic make-ups

Definitely #9. The black hardware, speed knobs etc look great with that color. If you don't want EMG's open coil black pups would look great too.

Re: UPDATED: More LP cosmetic make-ups

Boy, you just can't resist, can you? LOL I still say, keep it looking stock, only change the pickups to Gold Duncans and swap the knobs for reg. black ones.

That thing's a Cadillac, not a Honda Civic! LOL

Re: UPDATED: More LP cosmetic make-ups

Nah, I take that back, don't even change the knobs! The caps follow the theme of all the inlays.

Re: UPDATED: More LP cosmetic make-ups

I'm thinking either 1 or 2 ... the nest don't do anything for me

Re: UPDATED: More LP cosmetic make-ups

I like the middle: no pickguard and black pups - or chrome covers
