I've got a telecaster custom ii that has Duncan designed p90s and I really like them. But, I'm curious how much different the actuall seymour Duncan p90s are. Anyone have experience?

Re: Upgrade from "Duncan designed"

They're going to be so close to the model they're designed after that it's usually not worth switching unless you're looking for a different sound.

A lot of times the Designeds are wound hotter than the original.

The DuncDes P90 single coils give readings of approximately 11k (B) and 8k (N), respectively. The nearest American equivalents would be the SP90-2n and SP90-1n. (That's right. A neck pickup used in the bridge position. I do this on my Gibson Les Paul. I stole the idea from the PRS McCarty Soapbar guitar.)
