Hi!
I bought a Dinky Snow White 3 years ago. I really like the guitar but it is not staying in tune now. Some parts of the tremolo are also damaged so I'm thinking about replacing the Jackson's Licensed under Floyd Rose Pats for an original Floyd Rose. My questions are: Could this be a solution for the tuning problem? If yes, which Floyd Rose Tremolo is compatible with my guitar?
Thank you

Re: upgrade

I would go with ether the Original Floyd Rose or the Gotoh Floyd. Which one would fit your guitar better? I don't know. I am sure one of the Jackson fans will chime in soon and let you know. Got any pics?

Re: upgrade

You need to verify which trem you have. If it's a jt580lp you can use a Floyd Rose original (or Special) or the Gotoh with a couple mods. There will be a larger gap between the trem and edge of the cavity on the low side on any of these because they aren't syymetrical like the JT is. You can use the FR trem posts, which I recommend because they are fine thread and are more snug than the stock parts. The Gotoh posts are just too big to use, the way jackson cuts the trem route doesn't leave enough meat in there for me to feel confident about putting the locking stud anchors in there. The string lock bolts may also be too long, but swapping to a OFR bolt on the 6th string will probably fix that problem.

I'm using OFR posts and anchors and two OFR lock bolts on a Gotoh in a Kelly.

You can fit an Edge trem if you really wanna be anal about the gap. But you'll have to use the stock or OFR posts like I described for the Gotoh, and you'll have to route the tail section wider and further back to clear the lock bolts (unless you swap to OFR parts there also).
