Dump the metalzone pedal. They're really buzzy, not much tone there... Also, "best" depends entirely on the music you are playing, and the situation you are playing in.

I wouldn't use the Metal Zone as a a prime distortion, but rather use it to boost the OD channel on your Valvestate. Go easy on the MZ eq and boost its mids to taste instead of scooping them.
Lots of great metal tones to be had with that setup, but I found the MZ can be hard to dial in just right. Think I'll get mine out and have a go for old time sake.
