upgrading bassguitar with both the SMB-4A and SMB-4D a good idea?

Hey, I have this bass and I'm looking to upgrade the electronics and pickups.
It's a Cort C4H and has 2 MM style (I guess alnico V) PUs.

The sound I'm aiming for is tight, deep growling lows and solid high mids. I was thinking of putting the ceramic pu in the neck position to give the lows more bite and the alnico in the bridge for a solid treble sound.

Anyone thinks this is a good or bad Idea? Experience with this setup or any other ideas?

welcome to the forum!

i love the alnico in the bridge, havent tried the ceramic in the neck but it could be cool. i like these pups wired to a series/split/parallel switch for a wide variety of tones

Welcome to the Forum!

I might actually reverse them, as there is less string vibration by the bridge. But I understand why you are going for that setup. I can't imagine there would be a problem with that setup providing the Cort uses the same size pickups (each pickup page has the exact dimensions as a link to a pdf file).
