URGENT! 5150/6505 footswitch help needed!!!

CTN

The Drama Dude
Hey dudes,

So I've got a gig tomorrow, and the other guitarist lost his footswitch for his 6505 (not the 6505+) at a gig some time ago. He has a new footswitch...not new new, but someone gave it to him. It's a 5-pin plug, 3 button dealie. He asked me if I could rewire it so it'd work with his amp. Not a problem. One of the switches will be non-functional, but whatever.

Now I've been looking for 6505 footswitch schematics but I can't seem to find any. I know I need to change the tip from a 5-pin to a 1/4" stereo jack, but what I'm more concerned about is which wire goes to which switch??

tip = channel switch?
ring = effects loop?
sleeve = common ground (I figure that's a given, but the other two are up in the air).

I won't have time to test it out with the amp and switch around the wiring, otherwise I would've done that, cuz it's one way or the other, there's really no other options. I just wanted to get it right without having to worry about experimentation, rewiring the like.

Can anyone help me out here and tell me what wiring is correct?

THANK YOU PROFUSELY!!!

If you saw that
attachment.php

Sleeve = Ground
Then you saw this ?
2cdfqth.gif

It tells you what's what with newer plug and wires. The other tells you what is what for a 5150/6505 stereo jack connection. It appears that they engage the function from grounding the relevant function wire. It wouldn't matter if you got those two around the other way, as long as they ground when switched on , they should work.

It shouldn't matter what model it is. They all work the same in the long run.
Grounding Ring or Tip to enable the function.

which wire goes to which switch??
Ring[Wire from pin 7] = channel switch
Tip[wire from pin 6]= effects loop
sleeve = common ground

Literally the first Google result for "5150 footswitch schematic" is this:

5150schematic.jpg

Tip = FX, ring = channel.
