I think the head itself is somewhere around 80 lbs.

I have the short head (somewhere). It's heavy but it ain't 80 lbs. Probably around 40.

Sorry if I was incorrect...I was recalling the quoted shipping weight when I bought mine.

The Rivera K100 is like 70lbs by itself, so packed I could easily see a mesa being 80
