URGENT! Power converter question

I need to buy a voltage converter to make an amp bought in the U.S work in England. So I need one that turns 110/120V into 220/240V.

The only thing I don't know is how much power an amp needs. I'm not referring to the amp's wattage. I need to know how many watts it consumes.

Would 50 watts be enough? Anyone know?

It depends on the amp. What amp is it? It should say what the power consumption is on the back.

FWIW,My DSL 50 50wawtt head consumes 175watts

I have a 1000watt step-down for my 100watt dual rectifier.
Although it is overkill.

Have at least 4 times your amps 'wattage'.
