USA Peavey Falcon, or a mislabeled ESP LTD ST-203/213

Hey guys, I have just come across the conundrum of whether or not I should buy a $250 dollar USA made Peavey falcon with all single coil pickups, or a $349-$370 ESP LTD ST-203/213 mislabeled as "ST-230" with a double coil/ middle/ and neck single coil pickup made in Indonesia. The ESP was effortless to play and was the best neck I've ever felt. That's why this choice is difficult. Both whammy bar Strat copies.

Except is has a tan fingerboard. Maple?

I'd go for the ESP, and upgrade the pups. Might as well make the guitar that feels better sound better too -- that will make it your go-to #1.

Thanks for the advice man. That esp sounded wonderful through my Roland Jazz Chorus 77.

So I ended up buying the Peavey Falcon. The single coils are awesome. The neck gives me the perfect Kirk Hammett One tone through the 77. The highs of the guitar through my computer kill my humbucker guitar...which is a Schecter Blackjack C-1 2006 with a black winter bridge and 59 neck. I think the reason that the esp plays better is because it is not a lacquered neck and is all bare. Also I believe the esp has 9 gauge strings while I feel the falcon has 8. If I smoothed up the neck on the Falcon I would like it a lot probably. I do like it though. Much easier to play than a 10 gauge metal monster like the blackjack.

I had a feeling this thread was going to end with "So I ended up buying the Peavey Falcon". ;)
I am correct so little these days it feels nice to be right once in awhile.

I would have voted for the ESP probably all around better guitar with more upgrade potential. Only Peaveys I ever liked at all were the T series and that was just because they were so different
