Hi, I was looking around for a used Fender Standard MIM Strat. I am not sure exactly how prices should be for a used guitar. I was offered a 3 year old, mint condition, Fender Standard Strat (made in mexico) for $225.00. Can anybody let me know if this is a good deal for the guitar? I want to make sure that I pay a lower end price for a used strat. Thanks!

I bought a lightly used stock MIM strat for $110 U.S. dollars and I thought that was fair. Other guitars you might want to look at are the Aria Fullerton models with duncan pickups and wilkinson tremolo's. Also look at the Fernandes Retro Rocket strat style. Sometimes you can get these two dirt cheap.

Got my MIM for $300 Can and there about $650 new. I bought it (try it out first of course) and modded it with a SD TB-5 all for under $650.

$225 seems good if it's in pretty good condition. Snatch it if it is!
EDIT: Didn't read clearly enough. Mint condition? Pick it up. Try to get it down to about $200. MIMs are great for modding if you get one with a good body and neck, etc.

I bought my mim fender strat new 3 years ago for $400 and i wouldnt part with it for less than that.

With the new MIM Standard Strats having Alder bodies, Slightly better Bridge blocks, and Medium Jumbo frets...... i can't wait for the new 2006's to be sold used in the future for cheap like the current finds..... I see 1999-2003 mim strats selling for between $300-$400 depending on condtition in Canada these days... In maybe 3-4 years a few of these newer versions may be hitting the used racks..... Those i'll be modding for sure!!!!
