used tube amp $300?

i am looking for a 30+ watt 1X12 all tube combo used for around 300. I am close to buying bluesguys crate VC6112 but was wondering if there were any options.

i need this amp to do good clean (not fender tho) and good distortion (not marshall) with and without a pedal. Reverb would be nice, line out as well, anything else, i wouldnt use, but why not?

Im looking for a blues/classic rock tone that can do other stuff as well, but mainly blues/classic rock.

I also need this amp to be able to do small gigs, practices, jams, etc..

Re: used tube amp $300?

Well I dunno if you'd like it, but the Crate BV 60 1x12 combo is pretty damn cool...Surprisingly good cleans, and the distortion can do death metal, but im sure with the gain rolled back, and boost switch off, it would do blues/light rock.

Re: used tube amp $300?

300 is pretty low bones for an all tube amp thats 30w or more, but if you look hard i think you can swing it.... my suggestion would be to find a used fender "blues deluxe" its 40watts has bassman style cleans and very nice drive channel and reverb , its the erlier (and some say better) version of the HRD series i got mine for 399$ used at guitar center, you might have better luck on ebay

check out used prices for reverend hellhounds as well

Re: used tube amp $300?

You want classic rock tones but no Fender Cleans, and no Marshall gain? Those are the voices of classic rock.... What exactly are you wanting the amp to sound like?

Re: used tube amp $300?

I'll second the Peavey Classic 30...it can be modded into a really good amp. Most guys around here are probably good enough with a soldering iron to do most of the C30 mods in the articles section atwww.blueguitar.org

I have a Peavey Bravo 112 that would fit your needs .
It is like new. There is a regular Bravo cult.

I would sell it for 300.00 which is a little high but it is like new
