Using a blender in a hh strat

Do you guys know what differently I need to wire the blender to work with my hh strat with 2 4-conductor humbuckers? Would I need to show or tell my guitar tech anything so this works with my 5 way switch im going to setup as

1.neck
2.outside coils in parallel
3.neck and bridge in series
4.inside coils in parallel
5.bridge

The wiring diagram is shown here http://www.dimarzio.com/Text/Wiring/TwoHumbuckers5WayMultiple.pdf .

I plan to set it up so just at the position 1 and 5 the blender works.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Can anyone help me with my questions because I'm getting my pickguard this week and I want to drop all the stuff off to my guitar tech to install everything.

Re: Using a blender in a hh strat

I just assume you connect it to the hot of the bridge and neck on the 5 way switch for the four-conductor cables. Just tell me if this is the wrong wiring guys.

Re: Using a blender in a hh strat

I'm not positive, but it seems to me that you would use the blender to just blend-in one pup. So if you choose the bridge, the "blend" function would only work at #1. If you choose the neck, it would work at #5. If I understand this correctly.

You'ld take a jumper from the "hot" wire of the pup you want to blend, and run it to one of the outside lugs of the blend pot. Then you'ld take the center lug of the blend pot to the output, or volume control.

Is that what you're asking, or did I miss something? :)

Yeah I play make the positions 1 and 5 work with the blender, so at #1 I would blend in the neck and vice versa at #5. For the jumpering part why would I need to wire the hot to one pickup, should be for both because my blender only has 2 lugs on it.

Re: Using a blender in a hh strat

I see what you're saying. There's a couple different ways to wire a blender, but that way sounds best. Just connect the two lugs to the neck and bridge hot wires. Then you can blend from one to the other at any time.

I've been studying too many wiring diagrams today. :smack:

Re: Using a blender in a hh strat

Does anyone know which wire is the hot for a dimarzio 4 conductor pickup? From what I read in the instructions packet it is the red, I assume. If this is true do I just connect the blender to any where the red wire is in the diagram?

If any of you guys could draw on the diagram, to show my tech how to wire it, I would really appreciate it.

Would I just need to wire the one wire to the all the spots the red wire from one pickup are solder to do this setup? This will only be true if red actually is the hot wire in the diagram.

Re: Using a blender in a hh strat

Can anyone help me as soon as possible because I'm going back to college in about a month from now? I still need to get more practicing in and my guitar tech takes about a week to do wiring work, because his in the shop 2 times a week.
