uv70p for Djent or a different guitar and with which pups?

Re: uv70p for Djent or a different guitar and with which pups?

6505/5150 are the Djent amp at affordable prices.

For your guitar is fine for Djent, a lot of it is in dropped tuning though so if you have your UV70P in BEADGBE you should try AEADGBE. Cause B standard isn't really going to work.

Check out Meshuggah if you haven't already they have some songs played on 7s, After The Burial is also Djenty and their old stuff is on a 7 string. Modern Day Babylon and old Intervals is all described as Djent. So if that's the sound you are going for then awesome, if not then you may be looking more towards Death Metal maybe? I am not sure but when I think of "Djent" tones those bands stick out to me

Go listen to Periphery and tell me that's all power chords.

Periphery and Animals as Leaders are pretty much the first bands I think of when somebody mentions djent. Keith Merrow has a little djent in his tone.

No thanks. I have traversed into new musical territories since I started playing in the late 80s.

there is no law that prohibits you to play whatever you want. I started playing rock back in early 80s, BTW.
I started playing guitar in '94 and my tastes started going backwards. LOL

Guys, I just came from Italy, Milano. I went to as many guitar shops as I could, and even tried two 8-string Ibanez models at luckymusic. They sucked. The amp sucked. The tone sucked. And I sucked. The teen guy next to me could rip his 6-string to ribbons and I couldn't get 3 notes right. Now I am back home in Greece, and when I grabbed my 7-string, it was like phewww.... THIS IS THE REAL ME!!!
I want to go back and teach this teen a lesson in metal, but I guess this will have to wait.
And yes the recipe proposed by all friends above is very spot on. Maybe one day, when I'll have some space/time (when I retire ... lol) I'll try this on a real amp.
