Tried the V-amp..... Bought the Zoom G2......Wish I had bought the Rifftracker package with Guitar port.
I admit I have not spent as much time as I should trying to learn the G2. The manual they give you explains very little of the computer program that comes with it. I have not managed to make a multi track recording yet that I could not have done as well with a crappy tape recorder sitting a foot away from my amp. As a stand alone effects pedal, its ok, but not very impressive when compared to others. I bought it because my computer system was a couple of years overdue for a system update and would not run the Rifftracker software. Now my system is up to date and I am regretting the purchase.

I've had some good recording fun with my V-Amp 2. Plus you can play with the software editor, that you can download, and the user presets from their tone library. Never tried the Zoom. The last Zoom I had was an old 3030.

I have the zoom G2.1,and it blows any other effect i have ever used like digitech GNX2 and RP300A.Korg Ax1000, Vox Tone lab.,boss GT8,all other processors are digitalized in sound i mean u feel u r playing with a computer sound not real one,also the noise gate in all other effects except digitech is too weak which means u can hear noise when u r playing and if u set the boundaries too high the sustain will be weak.but in the new zoom models u ll play with real sounds and no noise at all.i am thinking to get the G9tt,coz the G2.1 sounds like hell without tubes so the G9tt with the tubes will sound like wat .i think i ll sound more than hellz.have fun and get it or think about the G7.1 it is for 300$ in the shops.
