Vapor Intro sample

This is the intro to one of our new songs. It also is my first foray into multi-tracking guitar.

Imagine cymbal rolls and synth "wind" in the background of the first section. Then imagine a big drum fill over the harmonic in the next section. I stopped at where the verse would start. It continues the same riff.

:yeah: I know it is not perfect. I did it quickly just to see if I could. No, I do not know what I'm doing. ;)

So, go ahead and rip it apart and offer suggestions for how to improve it.

Aside: I had to move some tracks around, and I don't think they were spot on.:(

Re: Vapor Intro sample

BTW, the minimal mixing was done using desktop computer speakers...with my tinnitus in full scream. :saeek:

Lesstrat meets jethro Tull. I like it.

Your echo on the intro guitar has clicks in it. Probably something peaking out during your mix. The echo is falling over itself, your delayed signal is too loud for the origonal. mixing hint. try not to let any track/sound source rise above -10Db/Vu

Re: Vapor Intro sample

:D

That's not delay. That is the manifestation of poor track alignment.

thanks for the tip.

I think I heard the drums.

It sounds great, and now you're addicted and you have no one but yourself to blame.

Re: Vapor Intro sample

It really was a quick recording, 'cause I'm too lazy to take my time:D

we hope to return to the studio to record our new tunes soon. If we do, I'll post the "finished product".

More than anything, I wanted to know if I could do this. I believe the answer is, "maybe."

Re: Vapor Intro sample

All tracks were recorded with the Mojo.

It's actually 3 clean guitar tracks in the intro:
1 in mid position with the coils split
1 in mid position
1 in bridge position

3 tracks on the main riff:
1 hi-gain
1 overdriven/crunch
1 nearly clean

Re: Vapor Intro sample

Actually, Wazza, in retrospect you might be hearing the click track bleeding through.

It's on the end of your chordings, last two notes or so. Crackle/clicks .
it sounds like peaking distortion to me. It may be just one of the lines of guitar, or the accumalitive effect of all three.
I can quite clearly hear the click track at the end of that piece before it goes into the distorted guitar. It's not the same sound as I'm describing above.
