Well guys, I figure it's time for me to start my own recording project, since I can't seem to find myself a band, I think I wanna try writing some experimental music and record it all myself. Vocals, Guitar, Bass, and I'm seriously looking into getting a (cheap) electric violin and a decent keyboard as well. I can not play drums and have no idea how to cover that, to be honest. I assume some recording programs have programmable drums.
I've tried direct recording before, and it sounds pretty bad on this pc...I don't have the proper sound card, I suppose. All I did was plug my guitar directly in, no effects at all. I'm really looking at the POD Guitar Port...how well does this work? It doesn't need to be of super high quality, but I need it to be at least pretty good, since I plan on putting this on the internet and whatnot. Does the Guitar Port record other intruments well? (bass, keyboard, violin, etc.)
This is an area I honestly don't know anything about, and all help is appreciated.
