Vegatrem vs Bladerunner

Anyone tried both?

Think the Vegatrem is worth the extra $100 over the Bladerunner?

I have 3-4 vintage trems to replace, so the bladerunner is definitely more appealing for the price.

[With proper nut and locking tuners of course] Seems like they stay in tune equally as well, but the Bladerunner doesn’t have as much up and down travel as the Vega.
Sound about right?

Talk to me, Goose.

I have a Bladerunner, and I am very happy with it. Vega gets great reviews, though, and I'd love to try one as well.

The Vega is very stable, i have to give them that. I once snapped the blade of a Bladerunner so I'm not a huge fan of those (anymore).

To date, I'm still the most impressed with Hipshot and Floyd Rose. Their non-finetuner trem is a piece of art to me. I always use locking tuners and that Floyd trem locks the strings in the saddles (which is a great trem if you don't have a locking nut!). Strings tend to slide in the saddle or in the trem block and by using that Floyd, you circumvent that problem all together.

Thanks gents.

I love the concept of being able to replace 6 screw trem as a drop in, great tuning stability, etc. I got really excited when I discovered the Vega in particular.

But damn, $300 for the Vega, $250 for the Blade Runner.
I can get a brand new GE1996T (best trem ever IMHO) on my doorstep for $125…

After you factor in locking tuners and a good nut (+ any luthier fees), you’re looking at $400+

Despite having to drill for posts and nut shelf, locking trem makes more sense. You KNOW it’s going to stay in tune and it’s much more cost effective.
Now if the aforementioned non-lockers came down to the $150 range, might be a different story…
