Using Duncans, building with Duncans, tweaking with Duncans forever. Love 'em. Anyway, sadly, i bought the 3 band preamp for passive basses maybe a year ago. The motherboard back is all velcro. So i mounted it against a same-size velcro receiver, hooked up the pups and thing sounded awesome. Went to move it to a different body just recently. the full velcro was an absolute bear to free up the mobo. Fought me every step of the way and surely stressed the card. Put it in the other body, plugged it in, totally dead and the chip on the mobo started heating up to the stratosphere. Sure enough, found a microfault with a meter. Mobos cannot be replaced. So...STRONGLY recommend that when you velcro the preamp board to the cavity, use a strip just a 1/4" high and place the part of the mobo furthest from the chip on the velcro receiver. This way you can easily lift the mobo up and it will still be secure.
