Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

Re: Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

That was VERY nice...though I would have liked to have heard all the lead parts, not just the solo. The vocals obviously weren't dead-on Weiland, but the singer is certainly not incompetent.

Everything is in the right place..nice tone..good playing..good singing and the drummer rocks too!!

That is a really good cover :cool3:

Re: Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

thanks guys..

like I said, the levels were still a bit messed up..but it was done live with everyone in the same room (except the drummer)..and the other guitar players rig didn't seem to cut through as much as mine...

got a ways to go yet, but it's a good start =)

Nice cover, band is good and tight. Singer does a good job and the tones are very nice.

Hey,

Don't worry if you may be least talented out of a group of obliviously talented muso's. Use it as a chance to improve your skills. I was thinking of a cool cliche, something like 'success breeds success' :D, but I think you get the point :D

That was pure brilliance, really, it was awesome, probably the best band clip ive ever heard in rough raw demo form like that. The singer was class and the playing was tight, I enjoyed that.

wow, thanks man..really appreciate it =) I like how this version came out the best (maybe I'm just biased cause my guitar comes out right in your face..lol)....it's been remixed a little since then to get the vocals thicker and get the drums more up in the mix...but my guitar got buried=(

so I won't post that version..hahaah

These midi backing tracks are the best I've seen on the net.

I had a crack at it. I hate tunes in dropped D with a floating floyd :D. I'll admit, I need more than a few mins to nail the chord progression.

I see what you mean about the ending........:D

what's ironic is that the bass player and the guitar player didn't know how that part went...in their old band they got the cadence right but weren't playing the right notes...

and here I am..I actually figure it out, show them how to do it and when we record, it's ME that screws it up the worst...I ate a choke sandwich..LOL
