Dunno, but agathis is typically considered a pretty craptastic tone wood. It's rather lifeless.

Yeah but crappy body wood gets you closer to the Kurt Cobain tone. And if it's shaped like some of his favorite guitars (Univox Hi-Flyers -- Mosrite copies too) so i mean if that's your thing...

yeah, I saw the agathis. I like the mosrite shapes a lot but I don't want to shell out that much...

if they were alder like a proper strat or maybe even mahagoney i would probably start savin my pennies for one. agathis is such a dealbreaker...

Too much money for agathis. Seems like they put a lot into it and then forgot to order better quality wood for the bodies.

I have a friend that has one of the originals when they were out I belive in the late 60s. Nice guitar

heh... I wonder if I'm the only one who noticed they deepened the treble cutaway to exceed the bass side :laugh2:

WOW that's expensive... I've played a couple originals, they're weird feeling guitars, I like them
